Hundreds of Virginians traveled to the nation?s capitol today to ensure their voices are not overridden by a Lame Duck Congress.
Immediately following the Americans for Prosperity event, Sen. Mitch McConnell announced his support for a continued ban on earmarks saying, ?The people have spoken - I?m listening.?
?Listening to the people can?t end with the earmarks ban,? said Ben Marchi, AFP?s Virginia State Director. ?The lame duck Congress needs to respect the American people and allow incoming members like Morgan Griffith to make the tough decisions on cutting spending. We urge the outgoing Congress to extend current tax rates, pass a clean continuing resolution, and go home.?
In addition to Congressman-elect Morgan Griffith, AFP?s ?November Speaks? event today featured Sen. Jim DeMint, Reps. Michele Bachmann and Mike Pence, along with Congressmen-elect Frank Guinta (NH), Jeff Denham (CA), and Bob Gibbs (OH)
